资本 students in the 世界语言和文化 program want to earn a degree that will prepare them to make a lasting social impact in communities at home or abroad. 资本赞助夏季, 学期, and year-long programs in places like 法国, 比利时, 德国, 奥地利, 西班牙, 厄瓜多尔, 哥斯达黎加, 智利, 阿根廷和墨西哥. 资本 also offers local language service-learning experiences through ESL interpreting and working with 西班牙语 and 法国-说话 neighborhoods throughout Columbus. Students learn through small classes where professors know them individually and work with them to develop their strengths and confidence. Graduates are well-prepared to enter the workforce immediately after graduation, 或者继续读研究生.

Students who want to stay in central Ohio have interned with organizations such as Community Refugee and Immigration Services (CRIS), 哥伦布交响乐团, and the Inter国家 威尼斯人官网ors Center. 资本’s affiliations with The Washington Center (Amnesty Inter国家, U.S. 美国国务院.S. Senate) allow students to look for experiences on a 国家 level. Internship p艺术ners include the Desmond Tutu Peace Center in South Africa, 联合国开发计划署, 利比里亚, 以及美国驻比利时大使馆.
资本’s 世界语言和文化 program helps students communicate competently, 说话, reading and writing in the target language, and appreciating cultural diversity. Double majors and minors are encouraged for those who want to make themselves more marketable in careers such as business, 国际贸易, 国际关系, 法律, 政府及社会工作. 资本 is also a ch艺术er university for Sigma Iota, the Inter国家 Foreign Language Honor Society. Sigma Iota is the highest academic honor in the field of foreign languages with approximately 180 chapters of Sigma Iota at institutions of higher learning in the US and at American University in Paris, 法国.
With a degree in 国际研究, students are prepared to work with inter国家 non-government organizations, social service agencies or further study in graduate or 法律 school. 资本 students begin with an inter国家 studies core of classes and then choose two areas of concentration. As p艺术 of the inter国家 studies program, students learn a second language and have the option to p艺术icipate in life-changing study abroad experiences. Graduates have found fulfilling careers with organizations such as the U.S. Dep艺术ment of Citizenship and Immigration Services, Peace Corps, and Columbus Public Schools.
资本的成员资格 College Consortium for 国际研究 (CCIS) allows students to study in 17 different countries. These programs offer a selection of courses in a target language.
